Ethiopia Railway Summit 2018

The China Africa Advisory is delighted to coorganize this first-of-its-kind Ethiopia Railway Summit together with RDN Global and the support the Ethiopian Railways Corporation.

This high-level event will take place at the Sheraton Hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 17 to 18 September 2018, providing a unique platform for international railway technology companies, investors and financial institutions to engage with Ethiopian decision-makers and technical experts on concrete cooperation possibilities. Participants will receive first-hand information on Ethiopia’s railway transportation and investment policies, national and international priority projects and related procurement, financing and investment opportunities. Recent developments in the domestic public-private partnership framework and a possible partial privatization of the railway sector are the background against which the Summit takes place.

Ethiopia has been moving to the center of attention of the railway business in Africa through the inauguration of East Africa’s first electrified railway line earlier this year and the launch of the light rail transit in Addis Ababa in 2016. The country’s strong economic growth over the past decade and its increasing industrialization provide a strong basis for the realization of the Ethiopian Railways Corporation’s farsighted vision for railway infrastructure development and operation.
