Low-emission development in urban environments
Participated in the United Nations Climate Change Conference with a focus on low-emission development in urban environments
The world’s cities are the centres of economic activity and produce about 80 per cent of global GDP. By 2050 66% of the global population will live in cities. Therefore, low-emission development in urban environments is imperative for reducing global greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Paris Agreement and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Expert discussions on this important topic took place during the Bonn Climate Change Conference from 8 to 12 May 2017.
